Those engaged in weave these handicrafts are mainly women and originating Rari settlers,who wash and dye horsehair, to go weaving around ixtle fibers, like a warp. For this,only use their hands and a needle to make the terminations.
Quienes se dedican a tejer estas piezas de artesanía son principalmente mujeres pobladoras y originarias de Rari, quienes lavan y tiñen el crin, para ir entramandolo en torno a las fibras de ixtle, como en una urdimbre. Para ello,utilizan sus manos y solo una aguja para hacer las terminaciones.

The mane (Horsehair) Crafts is native of the People of Rari, located about 300 kilometers south of Santiago,
in the commune of Colbún, near of Linares, Chile.
The history begin 300 years ago, when some girls played and wove figures with poplar roots trees,
next to the river; but their durability was short time, because the roots was rot; so then, the roots were replaced
by mane (Horsehair), in natural color or pigment dyed, combined with the ixtle, vegetable fiber from Mexico,
which is used to firmness the tissue structure.
So, this technique has been passed from generation to generation until today.
La Artesanía en Crin es original del Pueblo de Rari, ubicado a unos 300 kilómetros al sur de Santiago, en la comuna
de Colbún, cerca de Linares; Chile.
Su historia se remite 300 años atras, cuando unas niñas empezaron a jugar y a tejer figuras con raíces de álamo,
cerca del río, pero su durabilidad era muy corta, ya que las fibras se podrían; por lo que posteriormente,
las raíces fueron sustituídas por crin de caballo de color natural o teñidos, combinado con el ixtle, fibra vegetal
proveniente de México, empleada para dar firmeza a la estructura del tejido.
Así se ha trasmitido esta tecnica de generacion en generación hasta nuestros dias.
